Global Alliance scholarships

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management is delighted to offer four annual “Global Alliance Scholarships” to MScom applicants living and working outside of Switzerland. This step is in line with its goals of strengthening collaboration among public relations and communication professionals in the international arena as well as constantly rationalizing day-to-day practice, developing academic networks and contributing to bridging the gap between the two.

Scholarship eligibility
Welcome to apply for the scholarships are communications managers who have been accepted for the next MScom session and who:

  • work in the area of communications
  • have minimum work experience of five years
  • live and work outside of Switzerland
  • are fully self-funding their MScom education


Candidates may submit a scholarship application at the time of submitting their MScom application, however; essays will only be considered for scholarships if the candidate has been offered and has accepted a place in the program by the scholarship deadline.

Executive MScom Program participants are experienced communication managers and accomplished professionals who retain full management and work responsibilities while participating in the Program.

Scholarship provisions
Scholarships are awarded to four successful candidates of the MScom Program. The scholarship cover 50 percent of the tuition for the upcoming MScom academic year and are deducted from the total fee for the program (CHF 46,000). The scholarship payments are made to the Executive MScom Program and are not transferable to other academic institutions. The funds are to be used for tuition only and may not be used for other costs on the recipient's bursar bill, such as travel and board.

Criteria for awarding the scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to appropriate candidates on the basis of future professional and leadership potential as demonstrated by the quality of the essay submitted in support of the application, and a proven track record of success, i.e. educational and professional background. Financial situation is also be taken into consideration.

How to apply
The following documents must be submitted:

  • Completed scholarship application form
  • Statement of the candidate’s financial position. This should include the latest income statement as well as gross expected income during the Executive MScom Program.
  • A short essay in support of your application for the scholarship award (not more than 1,000 words).
  • Once you have been offered a Global Alliance Scholarship, you will be asked to provide a document which states that your organization is not offering financial support for tuition during the MScom academic year.


Deadline for submission
The MScom office must receive the scholarship application package at the latest by October 20 of each year. The decision will be communicated to applicants by October 31. Candidates should have their funding in place and make all the necessary payments as outlined in the fee schedule. The full amount of the award (CHF 23,000) will be deducted from the balance of tuition fees (CHF 46,000).
