The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) was founded in 1996. As a public institution, it is part of the Swiss university system that comprises nine cantonal universities and two Federal Institutes of Technology. As the only Swiss public university with a full-fledged communications faculty, the Università della Svizzera italiana provided the natural base for MScom when the program was first launched a decade ago.
Today, USI comprises four faculties – Economics, Communication Sciences and Informatics in Lugano, and Architecture in Mendrisio – and has a total student population of over 2500 from 35 different countries, and a teaching staff of 450 professors and assistants. Benefiting from a unique geographic and cultural location, USI is a distinguished multilingual and ulticultural university with a broad international outlook. It has established partnerships with a number of other universities in Europe. Unique to USI are its small classes, direct student-teacher contact, fruitful synergies between the various humanistic, socio-economic and technological disciplines, ample classroom and laboratory space and top-quality equipment and facilities.

USI Executive Center
MScom lectures are held in the Executive Center – an area exclusively reserved for executive programs. Well-designed classrooms and state-of-the art audiovisual equipment and relaxation areas provide a comfortable learning environment and encourage interaction. The Executive Center is also equipped with areas for group work, a private lounge, wireless computer network and Internet access, and space in which students can securely store their belongings.
